Sadness Remains

I can not stop this sadness

It comes this time each year

Because when this time comes around

I wish that you were here.

I know you are in heaven

And watching me from above

But it’s just no longer the same

I can not feel your love.

I have no idea if you are proud of me

Or if you’ve seen me struggle through the years

If you know how much I miss you

Have you ever seen my tears?

Life, I know goes on

But it will never be the same,

And though at this time I want to be happy

There will always be a sadness that remains,
